“ఈ కథ బేయాసురుడు అనే ఒక పెద్ద రాక్షసుడి కథ. ఆ రాక్షసుడికి పాటలు పాడటమంటే ఇష్టం” అప్పూ ఈ మాటలతో కథను మొదలుపెట్టాడు.

మామ్మ, ప్రియ కథ వినడానికి అప్పుకి దగ్గరగా జరిగారు.

“బేయాసురుడికి పాడటమంటే ఇష్టం కానీ అతని గొంతు వినగానే అతని స్నేహితులు అతన్ని అసహ్యించుకునేవారు.” అప్పూ అన్నాడు. “అందుకని అతన్ని మిగతా రాక్షసులు ఒక కొండపైకి పంపించేసారు. అక్కడి నుండి అతని పాట ఎవ్వరికీ వినిపించేది కాదు.”

Mamma and Priya move closer to Apu to listen.

"Bey-asura LOVED to sing, but his fellow asuras HATED his voice," says Apu. "So they sent him away to the top of the mountain, where no one could hear him sing.".............
